Zehner sweeps weekly player of the week honors

Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team had one of their players honored by both the Skyline Conference and the Eastern College Athletic Conference as the performer of the Week. Junior men's soccer goalie and team captain, TJ Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon) earned Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week. He was also tapped as the Corvais ECAC Division III Metro Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Zehner went 1-0-1 in net for the Gators as they opened Skyline play with a 3-0 win over Yeshiva and played Union to a scoreless overtime tie. He had eight saves on the week and did not allow a single goal in 200 minutes of work. Along the way he penned his name to Sage's career saves record as he now has 125. He also holds Sage marks for most wins (16) and shutouts (12).

Sage is back in action on Saturday, September 27 hosting St. Joseph's College (LI) at 4:30 p.m. at Saint Rose's Plumeri Sports Complex.
