Farmingdale, NY--- The Sage College's men's basketball team travelled to Farmingdale State College for a Skyline Conference contest on Saturday afternoon. The host Rams posted a 66-51 win to improve to

9-4 overall and 5-1 in the conference. Sage drops to 6-7 overall and 2-5 in the league.

FSC's junior forward AJ Matthews scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting and had 14 rebounds as the Rams defeated Sage 66-51. Matthews leads the nation after recording his 11th double-double of the season this afternoon.

The Rams held an early 15-4 lead in the contest. The Gators would close within six trailing 20-14 with 6:04 remaining, before a 6-2 Farmingdale State run over the final minutes of the first half. 

Sage's sophomore forward Mason Horne (Albany, NY/La Salle Institute) netted 13 points with seven rebounds, while junior center Ryan Sager (Stuyvesant, NY/Ichabod Crane) had a 12 points with six rebounds and a pair of steals on the afternoon.

Rookie forward Robert Fuchs (Weshley Chapel, FL/Wesley Chapel) tied his personal-best with his eight points and added a career-best five rebounds for Sage.

Sage returns to action on January 17 hosting Maritime College in a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference match-up in the Kahl Center.
