Old Westbury, NY--- The Sage College's men's basketball team travelled to SUNY-Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon for a Skyline Conference match-up. The host Panthers triumphed 88-68 to improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference, while the loss snaps Sage's two-game win streak and puts the Gators at 3-3 overall and 1-1 in the league.
The two teams were knotted at 20-20 with five minutes left in the first half before the Panthers went on a 17-3 run and took a 37-23 halftime lead.
For the game, OW's Tavan McNair tallied 31 points, while Jamal Little finished with 25 points. McNair hit 10-of-17 shots from the floor and Little hit 10-of-15 from the floor.
For Sage, senior forward Ian Austin-Michaud (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) added another double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. He added four assists with two steals. Senior Dalton Austin-Michaud (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) and junior guard Jeff Stopera (Scotia, NY/Scotia Glenville) connected on 12 points each.
Sage returns to action on December 7 hosting Purchase College in the Kahl Center at 8 p.m. in the team's Skyline Conference home opener.
