Annandale-on-Hudson, NY--- The Sage College's men's basketball team collected a 77-67 non-conference win over Bard College on Saturday night. With the victory, Sage improves to 4-4 overall, while Bard drops to 2-6.
Sage also held a 31-17 advantage on the boards and got near double-doubles from the senior tandem of Ian Austin-Michaud (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane) and Dalton Austin-Michaud (Valatie, NY/Ichabod Crane). Dalton netted 17 points with eight boards, while Ian added 10 points and eight boards with a pair of assists and a blocked shot.
Senior guard Pat Lanoue (Troy, NY/Hoosic Valley Central) and junior Matt Farbotko (Rouses Point, NY/Northeastern Clinton) both tallied 13 points each. Lanoue handed out five assists, while Dalton Austin-Michaud added four assists in the Gator win.
The Gators held a 45-38 win at the break and held off a late-game challenge from the Raptors to capture the win. For the game, Sage had four players finish in double-digits while combining for a 58.0% shooting performance from the floor (29-50). Bard pulled within four points in the opening minutes of the second stanza (45-41, 19:30), before the Gators went on a run as Lanoue hit a lay-up and a three pointer and sophomore Mason Horne (Albany, NY/LaSalle Institute) connected on a jumper to spark a Sage lead (51-42, 13:47).
Sage returns to action on January 4 hosting Southern Vermont College in the Kahl Center at 7 p.m.
