ONEONTA, N.Y. – Host Hartwick used a 9-1 run spanning the intermission to outscore Russell Sage College 23-14 this afternoon.
Midfielder Anthony Marrone (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) topped all participants with six goals in the Empire 8 Conference setback. The grad student, who leads the Conference in goals per-game, needed only eight shots to accomplish the scoring output.
Senior defender Joe Johnson (Gansevoort, NY/South Glens Falls), who surpassed the 100 career caused turnover mark earlier this month, added four goals, five ground balls, and two caused turnovers.
Freshman goalkeeper Jordon Hankel (Cold Spring, NY/Haldane) tallied 20 saves in defeat (3-9), while junior midfielder Gamo Koulibaly (Aurora, CO/Rangeview) went 10-of-15 in the X en route to six groundballs.
Hartwick (4-5/2-2 E8) had six different players register four or more points in the Wednesday afternoon victory.
RSC (3-9/0-4 E8) continues E8 Conference play on Saturday at Keuka.
