CASTLETON, Vt. – Russell Sage College returned to the win column with tonight's 64-57 victory at Castleton.
The Gators (3-1), which led for nearly 90 percent of the action, limited the Spartans to a 10-for-32 shooting performance in the second half and had three players score in double figures of the non-conference road win.
Junior Trevor Green (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh/HVCC) led all players with 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting. The guard, who had 12 points in the second half, grabbed 10 rebounds for his first double-double as a Gator.
Senior guard Noah Girard (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) added 16 points, while junior guard Brandon Harris (Elmsford, NY/Alexander Hamilton/Herkimer CC) netted 11 points.
Sophomore forward Avery Oduro-Dompreh (Elkridge, MD/Oakland Mills) contributed eight points on 50.0 percent shooting, seven rebounds, three steals, and one block
RSC was ahead for the final 24:13, including holding a 41-29 advantage with 14:58 left. After the Spartans (0-3) trimmed the deficit to a single point with 5:46 remaining, the Gators went on a 7-0 run to regain some breathing room.
Junior forward Will Radcliff paced Castleton with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting and 11 boards.
RSC is back on the court on Saturday afternoon at John Jay. The non-conference matinee is set to begin at 3:00 PM.
