ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College was upended 70-60 by visiting SUNY Geneseo tonight.
Junior guard Brandon Harris (Elmsford, NY/Alexander Hamilton/Herkimer CC), paced the Gators (8-3/1-1 E8), which saw a five-game winning streak come to a close, with 12 points.
Senior forward Todd Williamson (Schenectady, NY/Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons) added 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting, while sophomore forward Avery Oduro-Dompreh (Elkridge, MD/Oakland Mills) topped all participants with 10 rebounds.
SUNY Geneseo (4-7/1-1 E8), which snapped a four-game losing streak, shot 62.1 percent in the first half to hold a 41-30 lead at the break.
The Knights were able to keep RSC at a distance for much of the second half. After senior guard Noah Girard (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls) hit a runner to pull the Gators within three, 59-56, with 5:19 remaining, SUNY Geneseo tallied seven of the next eight points across 4:06 to regain breathing room.
Senior guard Sebastian Pacheco, one of four Knights in twin figures led the victors with 17 points and nine rebounds.
RSC hosts SUNY Brockport on Saturday at 4:00 pm.
