ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Men's Basketball rang in 2025 by defeating visiting SUNY Cobleskill 68-61 this afternoon.
The Gators (7-2), now winners of four-straight contests, had three players register double-doubles in the home non-conference victory.
Senior forward Todd Williamson (Schenectady, NY/Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons) topped RSC, which never trailed, with 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting, 12 rebounds, and four assists.
Sophomore forward Avery Oduro-Dompreh (Elkridge, MD/Oakland Mills) added 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Junior guard Trevor Green (Troy, NY/Lansingburgh/HVCC) contributed 10 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, and three assists.
RSC started the contest strong, beginning the game on a 16-4 run. SUNY Cobleskill battled back from there to trail by only two, 25-23 at the break. The visiting Fighting Tigers remained within striking distance for much of the second half, although unable to ever tie the score or take the lead. Only ahead by two at 46-44 with 8:39 left, the Gators took control with a 9-0 run spanning 2:24. SUNY Cobleskill (4-6) could get no closer than seven from there.
Freshman forward Marquay Tanksley (Cohoes, NY) paced the visitors with 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
Looking ahead, RSC begins Empire 8 Conference play on Tuesday at Keuka.
