RSC Men's Basketball Earns an NABC Team Academic Excellence Award

ALBANY, N.Y. – For the sixth-straight year, Russell Sage College Men's Basketball received a Team Academic Excellence Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

Four Gators: guards Ben Aprilante (Fort Montgomery, NY/James I. O'Neil/SUNY Adirondack), Mike McLaughlin (Clearwater, FL/Clearwater), and Noah Girard (Glens Falls, NY/Glens Falls), and forward Todd Williamson (Schenectady, NY/Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons), made the NABC Honors Court for their efforts in the classroom.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

"Education is one of the NABC's five core values, and we are proud to recognize the academic accomplishments of these programs and individual student-athletes across our sport," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The dedication and hard work of these athletes, along with their coaches and support staff members who prioritize academic success, deserves to be widely celebrated."

Over 2,400 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and nearly 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2024-25.


Gator Bites: The 2024-2025 season marked the 16th for Head Coach Brian Barnes at the helm of the Gators...RSC which boasted the top defense in the Empire 8 Conference, made its fourth E8 Championship Tournament appearance…Forward Avery Oduro-Dompreh (Elkridge, MD/Oakland Mills) was voted the 2024-25 Empire 8 Conference Defensive Player of the Year, highlighting the five Gators that earned All-Conference honors.
