Krystal Lambert Named Women's Track and Field Inaugural Gator Award Recipient

Albany, NY – The Sage College's department of athletics gathered to recognize and honor the outstanding performances of the 2013-2014 year with the naming of the athletic award winners for the 15 varsity athletic teams. In addition to awarding the Gator Award, for the Most Outstanding Player, the department also named the 2013-2014 Female and Male Athletes of the Year as well as the ECAC Merit Medal and the Dean Sharon Robinson Senior Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year. The 2014 season marked the first season for women's outdoor track and field member, freshman Krystal Lambert (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) was selected as the first Gator Award winner for the year.

Among the many highlights of the 2014 season for Lambert, while competing at the Wesleyan University Swanson Invitational, she finished in 9th in the long jump with her performance of 4.2 meters, while also taking 13th place in the 100 meter dash in 13.61. She also picked up 15th in the 200 meter dash in 28.04. At the same meet, she was part of the Gators' ninth place 4 x 100 relay that had a time of 1:03.31.

At the Springfield College Invitational, she finished in 19th place in the 100 meter dash in 13.36. At the Captial District Championship at RPI, she finished in 8th in the 100 meter run with her time of 13.69. She added a 16th place in the 200 meters in 28.56. She also picked up 8th place in the long jump with her leap of 4.63 meters.

At the Matthew Vassar Twilight Invitational, she finished in fifth place in the long jump with her performance of 4.54 meters.
