March weather plays unfair with Sage spring teams

Troy, NY – The Sage Colleges’ spring teams are not only battling opponents but the weather.

The newest two teams at Sage, the men’s and women’s outdoor track teams were slated to make their varsity debut on March 29 but have not been able to take to the track. Originally slated to compete at Mount Holyoke College, that meet was cancelled. Then penciled in at the Ithaca College Invitational, that meet was also cancelled. Sage’s teams will have to wait until April 5 to open the new season when they travel to the Yellow Jacket Invitational at American International College.

Sage’s softball team was slated to host a pair of Skyline Conference double headers on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30, but those games with SUNY-Old Westbury and Mt. St. Mary College have also been postponed. No new dates have been set for the games.

The Gator men’s tennis team was also scheduled to host the Falcons of Albertus Magnus College on March 29 in the team’s 2014 home opener, but that is also washed out. A new date for the match has not been determined.

Sage’s women’s lacrosse team will visit SUNY-Old Westbury on Saturday, March 29 but the contest has been moved to the campus of St. Joseph’s College (LI) for an 8 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
