Poughkeepsie, NY---The Sage Colleges' women's outdoor track and field team competed on Friday night at the Matthew Vassar College Twilight Meet on the campus of Vassar College, a non-team scored meet held at Vassar.
On the women's side, freshman Sharmise Pratt (New York, NY/Urban Assembly for Careers in Sports) picked up 8th in the 100 meter dash in 16.23 and added a 22nd place finish in the 200 meter dash in 34.68.
In the 800 meter run, sophomore Ashley Maresca (Brant Lake, NY/North Warren Central) finished in 11th in 2:41.81, while freshman Lauren Belfast (Ilion, NY/Ilion) added a 14th place showing in 2:51.63. Sophomore Victoria Bunk (Franklin, NH/Bishop Brady) added a 16th place showing in the same race in 3:09.39. In the 1,500 meter run, Belfast was 10th in 5:41.64.
In the long jump, rookie Krystal Lambert (Brooklyn, NY/John Dewey) finished in fifth with her performance of 4.54 meters. In the shot put, freshman Dayle Carhart (Albany, NY/Guilderland) finished with a throw of 8.43 meters and took home 5th, while rookie Julie Sterling (West Winfield, NY/Mount Markham) added a 7th place finish with her toss of 7.73 meters. In the discus, Carhart finished in fifth with her throw of 26.25 meters, while Sterling picked up seventh with her throw of 16.58 meters.
In the 4 x 100 meter relay, the Gators picked up fifth in 1:01.34 behind the work of junior Iris Collins (Cambridge, NY/Cambridge Central), junior Caitlin Coughlin (Palenville, NY/Catskill), and sophomore Megan Lugo (West Nyack, NY/Clarkstown South). Sage finished in fourth in the 4 x 400 meter relay as sophomore Mary Valentine (Housatonic, MA/Monument Mountain), freshman Stephanie Schmidt (Holland Patent, NY/Holland Patent), rookie Morgan Rush (Troy, NY/Averill Park), and sophomore Amanda Millington (Chestertown, NY/North Warren) posted a time of 5:04.50.
