Russell Sage College’s Director of Athletics Sandy Augstein-Collins has announced that Regan Grube (Eugene, OR/Crow) will be the new head women’s and men’s cross country and track and field coach in July of 2022. No stranger to the teams, Grube has spent the last three years working with the Gator running programs, having served as a graduate assistant coach.

Director of Athletics Sandy Augstein-Collins commented, “We are very excited that Regan has agreed to continue her excellent work with our cross country and track and field programs.” She added, "her enthusiasm for the position combined with her background make her perfect for our Gator student-athletes and we are excited to see how she can bring our programs to a new level of success and achievements.”

Grube noted of her selection, "I’d like to thank Sandy and the search committee for the opportunity to expand my role and become the next head coach of the cross country and track and field programs." She added, "I am very excited to continue my coaching career here at Sage and to expand my role with our student-athletes. This program has seen a great amount of growth the last few years and I’m looking forward to building on that success in the upcoming seasons!"

A 2019 graduate of Bemidji State University, Grube has been instrumental in the success of Sage’s programs and has helped to coach numerous Empire 8 All-Conference honorees, as well as a pair of U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region performers, in addition to helping individual set and establish new high-water marks for success for the track and field teams, both indoors and outdoors. In addition, RSC’s student-athletes have also earned numerous academic citations during that same time frame.

As an undergraduate, she earned a bachelor of science degree in exercise science. She also holds a masters’ degree from Russell Sage in applied nutrition.

A four-year letterwinner at Bemidji State, Grube excelled as a member of the track and field program and in the classroom. As a senior she earned a selection to the NSIC Winter and Spring All-Academic Teams marking her sixth selection to the league’s all-academic squad. Indoors she set a personal best in the weight throw (13.81m). Her senior year she had five top-10 finishes during the indoor season. Outdoors, she had nine top-10 finishes. She set outdoor personal bests in three events, discus (37.80), hammer (44.82) and javelin (31.11).

A year ago, RSC’s men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted the 2021 Empire 8 Cross Country Championships and produced three Empire 8 all-conference runners. The 2022 indoor season saw a Gator earn Empire 8 Co-Rookie of the Year status and four performers earn bids to the 2022 All-Atlantic Track and Field Conference Indoor Championships. The spring of 2022 outdoor campaign was another highly successful season for the Gators as two performers earned invitations to the 2022 All-Atlantic Track and Field Conference Outdoor Championships. Additionally, RSC had their first Empire 8 Champion in 2022 and had a Gator saluted as the 2022 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year for the Outdoor Season as well as earning a spot on the 2022 USTFCCCA All-Region team in the shot put.
