SCHENECTADY, NY – Russell Sage College graduate student Amy Stevens (Castle Creek, NY/Whitney Point) has been named as one of the three collegiate award recipients for 2024 by the Capital District Sports Women of the Year.
Stevens, an All-American Field Hockey player, will be recognized at the Capital District Sports Women of the Year Awards Gala on Monday, August 12 at 7:00 p.m. at the GE Theatre at Proctors in Schenectady. Tickets are on sale via proctors.org
Stevens, who is pursuing her doctorate of physical therapy, became the program's first-ever All-American when she garnered second-team All-American honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA).
The first-team NFHCA All-Region selection established single-season program records of 49 points and 20 goals and was voted the Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Year. Her averages of 3.06 points and 1.25 goals both ranked sixth in the country and led the E8.
Stevens, who established the program's single-game record for goals with four, helped RSC (6-10) qualify for the E8 Championship Tournament for the first time.
