Gators Win Big on Senior Day

ALBANY – Paul Reynoso (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) recorded one goal and one assist in Sage's 4-0 Skyline win against SUNY Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon.

Prior to the start of the game, seniors Casey Yurista (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill), Chris Dunham (Valley Falls, NY/Grace Christian), Fayssal Abdou (New Haven, CT/Wilbur Cross), Mu'Ammar Camara (New Haven, CT/Eli Whitney), Peter Fabrykiewicz (Delancey, NY/Andes), Sean Lanza (Poughkeepsie, NY/Spackenkill), Andrew Bartoah (New Haven, CT/James Hillhouse) and TJ Zehner(Beacon, NY/Beacon) were honored for their honor and dedication to the Gator program.

After 35 minutes of scoreless play, Derlis Zayas (White Plains, NY/White Plains) fed Alex Lanza (Poughkeepsie, NY/Spackenkill) a through ball from midfield down the right sideline. Lanza dribbled down the sideline and cut the ball to the outside of the penalty box. After creating space between him and his defender, the junior found the back right corner of the net to put the Gators up 1-0 going into halftime.

Reynoso gave Sage (11-3-2, 7-1-1 Skyline) an insurance goal early in the second half after River Seybolt (Seldon, NY/Longwood) crossed the ball across the face of the goal from the byline. Reynoso was waiting on the far post and tapped the ball into the left side of the net to go up 2-0.

35 minutes later, Fabrykiewcz scored his 7th goal of the season on a through ball from Sarpong Adjei (Bronx, NY/DeWitt Clinton). Fabrykiewicz stayed composed and beat the Old Westbury (4-9-2, 4-3-2 Skyline) keeper in a one-on-one to score his 17th career goal.

In the 77th minute, Ryan Fairweather (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) scored his first career goal off a Reynoso assist to ensure the 4-0 victory. With most of the bodies on the field in the penalty box, Fairweather found a gap and the back of the net.

Zehner (11-3-2) was awarded the win on a four save effort while Peter Sicardi (4-9-2) picked up the loss on seven saves. Together, Zehner and Dunham recorded Sage's 11th clean sheet.

The defensive unit of Bartoah, Fairweather, Luis Teran (Farmingville, NY/Newfield), Joe Diano (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay), Kyle LeClerc (Beacon, NY/Beacon), Christian Pinti (Slate Hill, NY/Minisink Valley) and James Fitzpatrick (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) held the Panthers to 11 shots compared to their 13.2 per-game-average.

With his work tonight, Reynoso now has the most assists on the team (five) while Seybolt leads in goals (eight) and points (19).

With his goal, Fabrykiewicz passed Jose Miranda (2011-14) in career goals to move into third in all-time Sage men's soccer history.

The Gators remain in sole possession of first place in the Skyline with today's win.

The Gators host Mount Saint Mary in Skyline action on Tues., Oct. 27 in their final game of the regular season at Plumeri Complex (Saint Rose), Albany, NY. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m.
