FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Gators Advance to Skyline Conference Championship with 4-1 Victory

ALBANY, NY – Peter Fabrykiewicz and Paul Reynoso each scored a pair of goals to put the Gators in the Skyline Conference Championship for the first time in program history in a 4-1 win over the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) on Wednesday afternoon.

CMSV (12-7-2) got up early in the 11th minute after Kevin Jardines scored from the left side after an attempted save by Sage's (12-3-3) TJ Zehner.

After four unanswered shots by the Gators, Fabrykiewicz found the back of the net in the 25th minute off a cross from Mu'Ammar Camara to tie the game 1-1.

Less than a minute later, Fabrykiewicz drew a penalty kick and connected his eighth goal of the season to put the Gators up 2-1 going into halftime.

After back-and-forth action for the next 43 minutes, Sage scored on its 9th attempt of the half on a counterattack. River Seybolt won a 50/50 ball and brought it down the right side of the field before passing it to Christian Pinti in the penalty box. Pinti then unselfishly passed up on the shot and gave the ball to a wide open Reynoso on the far post. Reynoso buried the shot from 12 yards out to put the Gators up 3-1.

With a mere 59 seconds on the clock, Reynoso scored his fifth goal of the season off a Seybolt cross on another counterattack to ensure the 4-1 victory.

Zehner (12-3-3) was credited the win on a season high nine wins while CMSV's David Melchor (11-6-2) took the loss with six saves. Zehner's 12th win of the season ties his 2012 record for single-season wins in Sage history.

The Sage defense of Pinti, Kyle LeClerc, Luis Teran, Joe Diano and Andrew Bartoah held the Dolphins to 16 shots, less than their average 18.19/game.

Sage will play Farmingdale, which advanced 4-1 in pk's over St. Joseph's (LI). The championship will take place at noon at ACP on Sat. Nov. 7.
