ALBANY – Sage handed Yeshiva its first conference loss of the year in a thrilling 2-0 victory Sunday afternoon.

Each team had scoring opportunities in the first half, but the defensive lines remained strong. Sage outshot Yeshiva 11-6 before heading to the locker room.

Mu'Ammar Camara (New Haven, CT/Eli Whitney) finally broke the stalemate in the 85th minute off a penalty kick to put the Gators up 1-0.

Yeshiva's best chance of the game came in the 89th minute off missed shots from Julian Ribak and Daniel Amar.

In the last seconds of the game, Peter Fabrykiewicz (Delancey, NY/Andes) scored the insurance goal off a pass from Kyle LeClerc (Beacon, NY/Beacon) to put the Gators up 2-0.

TJ Zehner (Beacon, NY/Beacon) (8-2-2) was credited with the win and his eighth shutout of the year. Maor Feinstein (4-4-1) took the loss in a 12 save performance.

With today's shutout, Zehner and the Gator defense of LeClerc, Christian Pinti (Slate Hill, NY/Minisink Valley), Luis Teran (Farmingdale, NY/Newfield), Joe Diano (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay) and Paul Reynoso (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) are now ranked 11th in all of NCAA Division III in shutout percentage (.67).

Fabrykiewicz now leads the Gators offensively with 12 points and five goals this season.

Sage is undefeated in conference play and currently tops the table in the league standings.

The Gators travel to Famingdale on Fri., Oct. 16 for Skyline action. Kickoff is 4 pm.
