ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Lacrosse commenced its spring by falling to visiting SUNY Canton 14-3 this afternoon.
The Roos, which had six players record multiple points in the non-conference matinee, got out to leads of 5-1 after the opening period and 11-1 at the half.
Sophomore defender Alexis Crossman (Corinth, NY/Corinth) paced the Gators with two goals, six caused turnovers, five ground balls and six draw controls. Senior attacker Aimee Rodriguez (Colonie, NY/Colonie) netted the other RSC goal.
Senior midfielder Maddy Caron topped SUNY Canton (1-1) with five goals and an assist.
RSC (0-1) is scheduled to play next on Wednesday afternoon at SUNY Oswego.
Gator Bites with Papa John's: RSC equaled a program-record for wins in a season with seven in 2024…Nine Gators return from last year's squad…Crossman, senior midfielder Maddison Walter (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls), and senior defender Angelina Schaefer (Latham, NY/Shaker) were voted co-captains of this year's team.
