ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College picked up its first victory of the spring with this afternoon's 17-3 non-conference home win vs. Vermont State: Lyndon.
The Gators, which had 10 different players score at least one goal in the triumph, led 5-0 just 5:49 in and held a 50-5 advantage on shots.
Senior attacker Aimee Rodriguez (Colonie, NY/Colonie) topped RSC with five goals on six shots, all of which were on goal, two assists, and three groundballs.
Senior defender Angelina Schaefer (Latham, NY/Shaker) contributed a goal, two assists, six caused turnovers, and four groundballs, helping RSC permit the visiting Hornets to go just 5-of-24 on clears.
Junior defender Kiara Mack topped VTSU: Lyndon, which had only nine players in its season opener (0-1), with two goals. Rookie goalkeeper Elivia Woodward (Hudson Falls, NY/Hudson Falls) stopped 17 RSC shots.
Looking ahead, RSC (1-3) opens Empire 8 Conference play on Saturday at Alfred.
