HILTON, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Track and Field senior Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) was formally announced as a first-team All-Empire 8 Conference performer in the javelin earlier today. All-Conference selections were determined at the 2025 Empire 8 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by SUNY Brockport on May 2-3.
Simpson, who became just the second Gator to win an event at the E8 Championships, was victorious by more than two feet with a mark of 50.87m. The distance also increased his program record in the event.
One member of each team was named that institution's representative on the 2025 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Sportsmen and Sportswomen of the Year Teams. The Empire 8 Conference emphasizes that "Competing with Honor and Integrity" is an essential component of a student-athlete's experience in conjunction with an institution's educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportsmen and sportswomen.
Senior Brandon Clarke (Freeport, NY/Freeport/Saint Rose) and sophomore Mercedez Cecelia-Storey (Pine Hill, NY/Onteora) represented the Gators on the squads.
