UTICA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College competed on Friday and Saturday at the Empire 8 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Utica University.
David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) competed in three events, the 60m, 200m and 400m dashes.
The senior lowered his school record in the 60m dash prelims on Friday with a time of 7.13. The clocking advanced the senior to Saturday's finals where he scored a point for RSC with an eighth-place time of 7.16. Adadjo completed 400m in 50.58 to finish tenth.
Senior Sarah Armenia (Saratoga Springs, NY/Shen) qualified in both the shot put and the weight throw. The program's record holder in both events finished 17th in the shot with a 10.06m mark, and tossed the weight 11.35m, good for 20th. Sophomore Mercedez Cecelia-Storey (Pine Hill, NY/Onteora) also competed in the weight throw, finishing 22nd with a 10.74m heave.
Sophomore Alexius Smith (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) was 16th in the high jump with a height of 1.33m.
The Gators 4x400m team of junior Alexis Arango (Albany, NY/Albany), Smith, freshman Sadie DeCrescenzo (Albany, NY/Colonie), and senior Merideth Diegel (Albany, NY/Colonie) finished the relay in 5:02.20, good for 8th place.
The men and the women both finished in ninth place with one point each.
