Gators Continue to Make Noise in Record Book Saturday at Utica

UTICA, N.Y. – Russell Sage College had its final prep for next week's Empire 8 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Utica Pioneer Fast Trax Invitational.

The Gators continued to make noise in the record book, setting two new program standards on Saturday.

On the men's side, Senior David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) continued his strong senior campaign, finishing the 300m dash in 36.40, good for a third place finish and a new RSC program record. Adadjo placed 13th in the 60m dash in 7.29 seconds.

Dylan Lawless (Slingerlands, NY) established the program standard in the pole vault at 3.11 meters. The junior placed ninth in the high jump with a jump of 1.67 meters.

Senior Jacob Haynes (Cambridge, NY/Cambridge Central) placed third in the 600m with a time of 1:43.25

On the women's side, junior Alexis Arango (Albany, NY/Albany) finished tenth in the 400m dash, completing the race in 1:08.72 and finished 29th in the 200m dash with a time of 30.3 seconds.

Sarah Armenia (Saratoga Springs, NY/Shen) threw 10.82 meters in the weight throw for a 19th place finish. The senior also finished 12th in the shot put with a throw of 9.83 meters. Sophomore Mercedez Cecelia-Storey (Pine Hill, NY/Onteora) recorded a shot put throw distance of 8.78 for a 21st place finish.

The E8 Championships will be held Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 at Utica.
