BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Track and Field senior Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) won the javelin at this weekend's Empire 8 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by SUNY Brockport. Simpson, who became just the second Gator to win an event at the E8 Championships, was victorious by more than two feet with a mark of 50.87m. The distance also increased his program record in the event.
Senior David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) qualified for three sprinting events: 100m, 200m, and the 400m. He lowered his school record in the 100m, crossing the line in 11.17.
Junior Dylan Lawless (Slingerlands, NY/Guilderland/HVCC) established the RSC Decathlon record with 4924 points, good for seventh place.
Over the two days, the Gators accumulated 13 points to finish eighth out of nine competing institutions.
On the women's side, a pair of Gators were in the top-ten in the javelin.
Senior Sarah Armenia (Saratoga Springs, NY/Shen) was ninth with a 30.15m toss, while junior Hannah Maxson (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) had a 29.39m mark to finish tenth.
As a team, RSC registered one point, which came in the 4x400m relay, to place ninth.
Gator Bites powered by Papa Johns: The first Gator to win an event at the E8 Outdoor Championships was John Coddington in 2022...He won the hammer throw with a mark of 45.93m...RSC concluded the weekend with eight broken school records this spring…The Gators set 11 program records this winter, seven by the men and four by the women…Both RSC squads finished in ninth place at the 2025 E8 Indoor Track and Field Championships.
