Gators Garner Numerous Awards with release of 2015 Skyline Men's Soccer All-Star Teams

NEW YORK -- The Skyline Conference's 11 head men's soccer coaches conducted their year-end awards voting recently, and Yeshiva University junior forward Itamar Ben David has been selected as the conference's Player of the Year.

The coaches also selected: The Sage College's junior back, Kyle LeClerc as Defensive Player of the Year; his Gators teammate, freshman striker River Seybolt as Rookie of the Year; and Sage sixth-year mentor, Kyle Clancy as Coach of the Year.

Ben David had a prolific season up top for the Skyline Conference Championship-qualifying Maccabees, as he led the conference with 14 goals and tied at press time for the conference lead with 34 points. Four of Ben David's markers were of the game-winning variety, and 10 of the goals came in Skyline play.

LeClerc repeats as the Skyline's Defensive Player of the Year, as he's helped the Gators to a school-record 12 clean sheets entering the team's Skyline Conference Championship run. In all, top-seeded Sage conceded just 12 goals through regular-season action.

Seybolt stepped right in for the Gators' offense in his first season of college soccer, as he bagged eight goals and three assists to rank seventh in the Skyline with 19 points. Additionally, his five game-winning tallies are the top mark in the conference.

In his sixth season with the program, Clancy has led Sage to the Skyline Conference Championship in every season of his tenure at the institution. After mentoring the Gators to their second regular-season conference title (2013) this fall, his career record stands at 63-38-11 (.612).

LeClerc and Ben David are joined on the All-Conference first-team by: Kevin Jardines and Guy Horcasitas of Mount Saint Vincent; Michael Ennis of Mount Saint Mary; Peter Fabrykiewicz, Sean Lanza and TJ Zehner of Sage; J.T. Famularo and Victor Romero of Farmingdale State; and Justin Heredia and Brian O'Sullivan of St. Joseph's (L.I.).

The second-team All-Conference squad consists of: Dominick Guidice and Tana Weekes of Old Westbury; Aaron Braun and Daniel Amar of Yeshiva; Richard Mastrangelo III and Samuele Riva of Farmingdale State; Jair Magallan of Mount Saint Vincent; Ivan Dorador of Mount Saint Mary; Luis Teran of Sage; Justin Busto of St. Joseph's (L.I.); and Sheick Wattara and Karl Weber of Maritime.
