We have a new 1,000 point scorer! Megan Bowman joins club as Gators down MSMC

Newburgh, NY—The Sage College's women's basketball team travelled to Mt. St. Mary College on Friday night for a make-up Skyline Conference contest. Sage's women's team posted an impressive 56-41 win to watch their win streak grow to nine consecutive games. Sage improves to 15-5 overall and 8-2 in the league. MSMC drops to 8-13 overall and 3-6 in the league.

Sage's senior guard Megan Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) scored her 1,000th career point in the action after she finished with 10 points in the game. She now has 1,003 career points and is now one of four 1,000 point scorers for the Gator women's basketball program. Already the Gators' career assist leader, she now has 427 assists after adding three assists with five rebounds and five steals in the contest.

Sophomore guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) led the Gators as she had 11 points with three three-pointers. Sophomore forward Krystyn Knockwood (Troy, NY/Troy) added nine points and seven rebounds in the contest. Senior guard Krysta Vanacore (Poughhquag, NY/Our Lady of Lourdes) added eight points with a pair of three-point baskets to contribute to the Gators' victory. Vanacore now has 65 career three-point baskets and in now No. 7 all-time on the Sage's career three point list.

Sage returns to action on February 15 hosting Yeshiva University in a 1 p.m. contest in Kahl Gym.
