Sage led 39-10 at the break as sophomore guard Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) scored 14 points. She shot 4-9 in the first half as Sage held the Fighting Tigers to a 20.0% shooting performance from the floor (5-25).
By game's end Pearson and senior forward and team tri-captain, Amie Jefferson (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) each had 14 points on the afternoon, while Jefferson had a team-best 9 boards. Senior guard Lea McClain (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) added eight points, while rookie Genevieve Schoff (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) added six points in her first home start as a Gators.
Sage had 10 different players score in the contest, including senior guard Megan Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) as she had seven points with six assists and a steal.
Bowman now has 756 career points and is No. 9 on the all-time scoring list, while adding 335 assists and 195 steals. She stands in No. 5 now in career steals after moving ahead of Erin Willis (194, 1999-2004) on Saturday and is No. 2 all-time in career assists (335).
Jefferson is now tied for the No. 3 all-time spot in career rebounds with her 591 boards. She is tied with Elizabeth Pearl (591, 1987-1991), while adding to her active career block record that has grown to 131.
Cobleskill's sophomore forward Shelby Preston (Ravena, NY/Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk) added a double-double off the bench as she has 12 points and 12 rebounds. She had a game-best 10 defensive rebounds for the Fighting Tigers. Rookie guard Annette Hogan (Margaretville, NY/Margaretville) finished the day with 10 points and added two three-pointers for her team.
The Gators return to action on November 25 at RPI for a 6 p.m. non-conference game. SUNY-Cobleskill is back in action on December 6 at Keuka College in a 1 p.m. road contest.
