Patchogue, NY –The Sage College's women's basketball team travelled to St. Joseph's College (LI) for a Skyline Conference contest. The Gators posted a 53-43 win over the Golden Eagles to improve to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

Sage led 27-15 at the break and got a double-double from junior forward Sara Tironi (Cambridge, NY/Cambridge Central) as she had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Sage's senior forward Amie Jefferson (Albany, NY/Colonie Central) tallied six points but hauled in 11 rebounds. The program's No. 2 all-time rebounder, Jefferson now has 665, but holds the all-time block record as she has 144.

Senior guard Lea McClain (Schenectady, NY/Mohonasen) added 11 points as well, while sophomore Frankie Pearson (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls Central) added 11 points.

The Gators are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 21 hosting Purchase College in a 7 p.m. home Skyline Conference match-up in Kahl Gym.
