The Gators came from behind to collect the win in the Florida trip finale as they knocked off the Pride of Widener University. Sage jumped out to a 3-1 lead heading to the middle of the third inning, but found themselves down 5-3 by inning's close. Sage rallied and regained the lead after plating three runs in the top of the sixth inning and held on for the 6-5 win.

Sophomore Hillary Faas (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia), senior Meghan Welcome (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes), and sophomore Tricia Gaulin (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) all racked up doubles for the Gators.

Welcome now has 21 career doubles, which is second all-time on the Gator career record book behind Kellie Jones' 36 doubles.

Smith got the nod as the Gator starter and worked 2.1 innings with four runs allowed off three hits. Newberg came in the game in the bottom of the third inning and proceeded to strike out five en route to the win in relief. She stands at 2-2 on the year.

Smith did provide the game-winning at bat as she drew a bases loaded walk in the top of the sixth inning and gave Sage a 6-5 lead.
