Sage men's volleyball team improves to 3-1 in conference play with win over Panthers

Purchase, NY--- The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to Purchase College on Wednesday night for a Skyline Conference match. The Gators tallied a 3-0 win (25-12, 25-16, 25-21) to improve to 4-3 overall with a 3-1 record in Skyline Conference play, while Purchase drops to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the league. Sage will put its two-match win streak on the line on Saturday when they face NYU-Poly and Kean University in a conference tri-match to be held at NYU-Poly.

For the Gators, junior middle hitter Ryan Kramer (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) added eight kills.  Sophomore outside hitter Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) also had eight kills with eight digs and an ace.

Junior setter and co-captain Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) racked up 39 setting assists and nine digs in the match for the Gators. Ray leads the team with his 193 setting assists this season and now has 904 on his career.

Sage's other co-captain, junior middle hitter Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) tallied 11 kills with 11 digs and an ace with three block assists. Sophomore right side Scott Fitzgerald (Hudson Falls, NY/Queensbury) had a strong showing as well with his 10 kills and seven aces, while adding four block assists. The pair now leads the team with their 50 kills each, while Fitzgerald has a team-best 17 aces.
