New Paltz, NY--- The Sage Colleges' men's volleyball team travelled to SUNY-New Paltz for a non-conference tri-match on Saturday. In the first match of the day, Sage faced the No. 15 ranked Hawks of SUNY-New Paltz, but fell 3-0 in a tight match (25-21, 25-19, 25-11). The Gators rebounded with a 3-1 win over Philadelphia Biblical University (25-19,25-23,17-25,25-19). Sage stands at 3-3 on the season after Saturday's action.

Against SUNY-New Paltz, junior co-captain Spencer Hilland (Slingerlands, NY/Bethlehem Central) tallied nine  kills with one block and four digs. Sophomore outside hitter Dylan Krowicki (Little Falls, NY/Little Falls) had five kills with three digs, while sophomore right side Scott Fitzgerald (Hudson Falls, NY/Queensbury) had three kills with four digs.  Junior setter and co-captain Kyle Ray (Horseheads, NY/Horseheads) tallied 18 setting assists with three digs.

The second match went to the Gators as Fitzgerald led the Gators with his 16.5 points on 12 kills, two aces, four total blocks, and nine digs. Hilland also tallied 12 kills and added six total blocks with nine digs. Ray had five aces with 30 setting assists.

Sophomore Zachary Kuhn (Renselaer, NY/Columbia) had 11 digs for the Gators as they combined for 10 aces in the match.

Sage returns to action on February 8 at Purchase for a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference road match.
