Gator Men's Track Team finishes in 10th at Springfield Meet

Springfield, MA---The Sage Colleges' men's outdoor track and field team competed on Saturday at the Springfield College Invitational. Worcester State College won the women's team title with a score of 159 and the men's team also picked up first with a team score of 158. Sage's men's team finished in 10th place with 10 points.

Junior Anthony Crawford (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy) finished in 13h place in the 100 meter dash in 11.58, while junior Ronnie Reed (Harlem, NY/Frederick Douglas Academy II) picked up 26th in 13.64.  Crawford picked up 16th in the 200 meter run in 23.41, while sophomore Nicholas Haas added a 37th place finish in the event in 26.31.

Rookie Jonathan McNeil (Bloomfield, CT/Greater Hartford Classical Magnet) added a 27th place finish, while competing in the 800 meter run in 2:26.11.

Freshman Eric Denny (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) added a fourth place showing in the long jump with his mark of 6.37 meters. He added a ninth place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.78 meters.

In the shot put, freshman Unique Warren (Harrison, NY/Harrison) finished in 29th place with his performance of 8.53 meters, while Reed picked up 31st (7.87 meters). Warren added a 26th place showing in the discus with his throw of 23.24 meters.

In the 1600 sprint medley, Sage finished in fifth place with a time of 4:04.61. On the relay were Denny, Haas, Crawford and junior Josh Myers (Ballston Spa, NY/Ballston Spa).

Next up for the Gators is competition on April 26 at the Capital District Championship, which will take place at nearby RPI.
