COBLESKILL, N.Y. – Russell Sage College Women's Basketball wrapped up 2024 with a trip to Cobleskill on Thursday night for a matchup with the Fighting Tigers, falling 78-67.
The Gators (1-4) had three in double figures in the contest, including a season high from guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City). The junior shot 8-15 from the field and a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe to lead all scorers with 22 points on the night.
Sophomore forward Kallie Hopkins (Millsboro, DE/Poly Tech) and senior guard Malena Gereau (Schroon Lake, NY/Schroon Lake Central) each added ten to the statsheet. Hopkins grabbed a Gator-high seven rebounds to go along with her ten points, the fourth time she has brought down at least seven rebounds so far on the young campaign.
Senior guard Olivia Huneau (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) led all players with five assists, while adding six points and three rebounds to fill the statsheet.
SUNY Cobleskill Head Coach Megan Bowman, RSC class of '15 and the program leader in assists with 458, has now led her team to a 10-2 record on the season and a 6-0 record at home.
Looking ahead, RSC kicks off the new year with a Friday afternoon matchup against Saint Joseph on January 3.
