Faraj Repeats as E8 Rookie of the Week

ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College freshman guard Syrita Faraj (Troy, NY/Tamarac) repeated as the Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week.

Faraj, who has now earned the honor four times this season, averaged 21.0 points on 47.1 percent shooting and 9.5 rebounds across two games last week.  The freshman guard led all players with a double-double of 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting and 12 rebounds on Friday at Elmira. She followed that up with a team-high 16 points in Saturday's victory at Keuka. 

The road win helped RSC (12-13) earn a spot in the E8 Championship Tournament. The Gators, seeded fifth, will play at Utica, the four seed, on Tuesday at 5:30 pm.
