ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College junior Leah Madore (Williamsville, VT/Brattleboro Union) was selected the Empire 8 Conference Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 6.
The right-hander tossed 15.0 scoreless innings and went 3-0 with 15 strikeouts. She became the program's career leader for strikeouts in Friday's complete game shutout of visiting Saint John Fisher, the two-time defending Conference Tournament Champions.
Madore begins the week ranked third in the E8 with 51 strikeouts and sits fifth among Conference pitchers with a 2.40 ERA.
Looking ahead, RSC (5-11/1-1 E8) is scheduled to play a non-conference doubleheader at Manhattanville on Wednesday afternoon.
