KISSIMEE, Fla. – Russell Sage College wrapped up it's spring break trip in Florida on Friday with a doubleheader against Washington and Jefferson and Ursinus.
The Gators fell in both contests on Friday, losing 9-5 to Washington and Jefferson and 4-3 to Ursinus.
RSC got some explosive offense in game one, as freshman infielder Jade Maille (South Glens Falls, NY/South Glens Falls) blasted a two-run homerun, the first of the year by a Gator hitter. Junior infielder Hannah Smith (Clifton Park, NY/Clifton Park) also drove in a pair of runs in the loss.
Junior pitcher Leah Madore (Williamsville, VT/Brattleboro Union) punched out five batters in her seven innings of work.
In game two, sophomore outfielder Bella Julian (Cicero, NY/Cicero North-Syracuse) had four hits and drove in a run, while junior infielder Ciana Santana (East Meadow, NY/East Meadow) tallied three knocks with an RBI.
Junior Bailey Catlin (Petersburg, NY/Berlin/Saint Rose) got the start in the circle for the Gators, striking out a pair in six innings.
RSC travels home and returns to action on Wednesday, March 19 at RPI for a doubleheader.
