DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Russell Sage College ran its winning streak to four with this afternoon's 6-3 non-conference victory at UMass Dartmouth.
The Gators received singles wins from: freshman Marian Aguirre (Plano, TX/Plano) (#1, 6-1, 6-0), junior Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) (#2, 6-3, 6-1), freshman Olivia Monaco (Campbell Hall, NY/Washingtonville) (#4, 6-3, 6-4), and senior Emma Vander Baan (Barre, MA/Quabbin Regional) (#6, 6-2, 6-3). Aguirre, the two-time Empire 8 Conference Player of the Week, now sports a combined 10-0 record, including a 36-4 singles ledger.
RSC took the doubles portion of the day from UMass Dartmouth (5-2), which got off to a 5-0 start to its fall, by a 2-1 margin. The #2 duo of Aguirre and Monaco and the #3 pairing of freshman Juliana Gagliardi (Schenectady, NY/Tech Valley) and Jessica Korbieh (Albany, NY/Albany) earned the points with matching 8-4 decisions.
RSC (4-1/2-0 E8) is back in action on Saturday at Houghton.
