ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College shot 40.4 percent from the field and had three players register double figures to secure tonight's Empire 8 Conference game against Elmira 67-51.
The Gators, now winners of two-straight, used a 21-6 first half run across 11:37 to take control of the contest.
Sophomore guard Layla Acosta (Haines City, FL/Haines City) established a career-high with 30 points on 45.0 percent shooting in the triumph. She became just the seventh Gator to tally 30 or more points in a game.
Junior guard Olivia Huneau (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) added 14 points on 5-of-10 shooting and nine rebounds, while junior guard Malena Gereau (Schroon Lake, NY/Schroon Lake Central) recorded 10 points and five assists.
Sophomore forward Allison Louque (Westminster, MD/Winters Mills) made her presence felt in the key, blocking five Elmira shots and grabbing eight rebounds. Her effort played a role in the Soaring Eagles (6-6/1-4 E8) shooting 29.5 percent from the field.
Junior guard Laura Bogota led Elmira with 12 points.
RSC (4-10/2-3 E8) continues a three-game homestand tomorrow at 2:00 PM vs. Alfred.
