ALBANY, N.Y. – Russell Sage College sophomore attacker Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) was chosen the Empire 8 Conference Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 7.
He totaled 18 points on nine goals and nine assists to help the Gators go 2-0. Kettle dished out six assists, tied for second-most by an RSC player in a single-game, in Saturday's E8 victory at Keuka.
RSC (4-8/1-2 E8) hosts Utica on Saturday afternoon. The E8 matinee will serve as the program's "Senior Day".
Gator Bites: The Gators returned 24 players to this year's edition…Attacker Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central), a graduate student, and Kettle headline the group…Martin began the spring as the program career in points (139), goals (91), and assists (48)…Kettle, voted a co-captain as a sophomore, capped his rookie campaign with a second-team All-Empire 8 Conference honor…Junior defender Drew Rankin (Painted Post, NY/Corning Painted Post), junior midfielder Akili Richardson (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy), Kettle, and senior midfielder Jake McElwee (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) were voted co-captains…Kettle was named the E8 Player of the Week for the period ending March 17…He tallied 11 points on seven goals and four assists in the 2-0 week.
