Obado Paces RSC Offense vs. SUNY Farmingdale

ALBANY, N.Y. –  Russell Sage College dropped this afternoon's season opener to visiting SUNY Farmingdale 20-7. 

Midfielder Shea Obado (Spotswood, NJ/Spotswood), a graduate student, paced the Gator offensive effort with five goals.

Sophomore attacker Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) added a goal and an assist, while junior midfielder Micah Hughes (Scotia, NY/Scotia-Glenville) recorded two assists.

SUNY Farmingdale (1-0), which led 6-2 after the first quarter and 15-3 at the break, had seven players register multiple points in the road non-conference victory.

Senior Antonio Kaminskey controlled the X for the Rams, which out-shot RSC 45-29 on the day, including 34-10 in the first half, winning 12 of the first 19 face-offs, and going 16-of-27 overall.

RSC (0-1) hosts Dean on Saturday at 1:00 pm.


Gators Bites: The Gators returned 24 players to this year's edition… Attacker Bailey Martin (Syracuse, NY/Onondaga Central), a graduate student, and sophomore attacker Nate Kettle (Killbuck, NY/Salamanca) headline the group…Martin began the spring as the program career in points (139), goals (91), and assists (48)…Kettle, voted a co-captain as a sophomore, capped his rookie campaign with a second-team All-Empire 8 Conference honor…Junior defender Drew Rankin (Painted Post, NY/Corning Painted Post), junior midfielder Akili Richardson (Bronx, NY/Frederick Douglass Academy), Kettle, and senior midfielder Jake McElwee (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Liberty) were voted co-captains.
