Delhi, NY—The Sage Colleges' women's tennis team traveled to SUNY-Delhi for a match with the Broncos. Sage toppled the Broncos, 9-0 to move to 3-1 on the year, while Delhi drops to 0-3.
Sage led 3-0 after doubles as the Gators won all three matches paced by the play of seniors Abbey Clobridge (West Sand Lake, NY/Averill Park) and Sadie Dunne (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) as they posted an 8-1 win. The Gators got wins at No. 2 and No. 3 on the ladder. Senior Rebecca Jackson (Saugerties, NY/John A. Coleman) and sophomore Taylor Gillespie (Cobleskill, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) earned an 8 2 win at No. 2 doubles, while at third doubles, Sage's senior Alison Trudo (Plattsburgh, NY/Beekmantown) teamed with junior Molly Cochrane (Ravena, NY/Ravena-Coeysman) earned an 8-2 win to spot Sage to a 3-0 lead heading into the singles matches.
At No. 1 singles, Clobridge earned the win to move to 3-1, while with her win at No. 6 single Cochrane added another win as she is perfect on the fall in singles with a 3-0 record.
Next up Sage will be back in action on September 14 hosting Mt. St. Mary College in a 1 p.m. match at Albany Academy Tennis Courts.
