New York, NY – The Sage College's women's tennis team wrapped the fall campaign this past week after making the team's second straight appearance in the Skyline Conference Tournament. The Gators were rewarded for their highly successful campaign with three players named to the 2014 Skyline Conference All-Star Women's Tennis Team.

Senior co-captain Kirsten Ackerman (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland) was named to the First Team and is the program's first three-time first team pick. Sophomore Erin Duffy (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) and senior Katie Schultz (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) were both named to the Second Team. 

Ackerman, just missed garnering her third straight Player of the Year citation, but wraps her stellar career as a three-time first team performer and is the most decorated player in the program's history. A team co-captain this fall, she helped the Gators to a 7-8 record, while finishing as a 2014 ITA Northeast Singles Quarterfinalist. Over the course of the season, she posted 14-2 record in singles play, including a 3-1 record in league play and a 10-1 mark at the No. 1 singles position. On her career, she went 79-16 in her three seasons at Sage and produced a record of 44-5 in singles play and a 35-11 mark in doubles action.

Duffy, who was a Second Team honoree last fall, went 10-6 this fall in singles with a 5-1 mark in dual match play. She was 2-1 at No. 1 singles and went 8-3 at No. 2 singles this fall. She and Ackerman paired at No. 1 doubles to go 9-3 this fall with one another including a 4-0 mark in league action and a 9-0 record against Division III opponents this fall.   

For Schultz, this year's Second Team selection is a first for the Gator, who went 10-2 this fall at No. 3 singles. Overall, she was 12-3 in singles play this season, while going 5-10 in doubles action. Schultz now owns an 18-11 record in singles play at Sage.
