Troy, NY – The Sage College's women's tennis team hosted the Raptors of Bard College in Thursday afternoon at Prospect Park. Sage posted a convincing 9-0 win to improve to 5-6 on the year, while Bard drops to 0-5. For the Gators, Thursday's victory represents the team's fourth win in the last five matches played.

Playing at No. 1 singles for the first time this season, sophomore Erin Duffy (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) added a 6-0, 6-3 win as she beat Bard's senior Beryl Taylor, 6-0, 6-3. Senior Katie Schultz (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park), this week's Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, was victorious at No. 2 singles as she beat Isabella Scarborough, 6-1, 6-0.  The Gators were led at No. 1 doubles by Duffy and Schultz as they beat Scarborough and Taylor 8-5.

Senior co-captain Lauren Bendall (Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy) collected the win, 6-1, 6-1, beating the the Raptors' Yuanyuan Xu at No. 3 singles.

Sage returns to action on October 11 hosting Sarah Lawrence College at 1:30 p.m. in a Skyline Conference match. Sage will honor their 2014 seniors on Saturday in conjunction with Senior Day.
