Troy, NY – The Sage College's women's tennis team hosted the Rams of Farmingdale State College in a Skyline Conference match on Tuesday. The visiting Rams posted a 9-0 win to improve to 10-1 overall and stay unbeaten in conference play at 5-0. The loss snaps Sage's win streak, which had grown to four matches.  Sage is now 6-7 overall and 2-3 in the league.

At No. 1 singles, the match featured the co-players of the week for the league as FSC's senior Jessica Sickles (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) faced Sage's sophomore Erin Duffy (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill). Sickles came away with a 6-0, 6-0 win to elevate her season record to 9-2 on the year. The loss puts Duffy at 9-6 this fall. At No. 2 singles, sophomore Priscilla Signore (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) beat senior Katie Schultz (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park), 6-0, 6-2. Schultz drops to 11-2 in singles play this season, while Signore improves to 10-1.

FSC's pair of Sickles and senior Alex Bentz (Massapequa Park, NY/Massapequa) collected an 8-0 win over Schultz and Duffy at No. 1 doubles to improve to 6-3 this fall with one another.

Sage returns to action on October 19 visiting Purchase College in the team's 2014 regular-season finale. The match has once again been rescheduled and will now start at noon on Sunday as the Gators look to secure a spot in the Skyline Conference Tournament after earning a bid last fall. The Rams are back in action on October 16 travelling to Brooklyn College for a 4:30 p.m. non-conference match.
