Duffy earns Skyline Player of the Week status in leading Gator tennis team

New York, NY – Sage's sophomore women's tennis team member Erin Duffy (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill) was honored as the Skyline Conference Co-Women's Tennis Player of the Week.

Duffy went a combined 4-0 at the No.1 singles and doubles flights as Sage posted wins over Sarah Lawrence (5-4) and Bard (9-0). She notched a 6-0, 6-0 decision versus SLC on Oct. 11 and a 6-0, 6-3 victory on Oct. 9 against Bard and is now improved to 9-5 overall in singles action in 2014.

Sage has now garnered the league's women's tennis player of the week the last three weeks as senior Kirsten Ackerman (Rensselaer, NY/Guilderland) was honored on September 29 and senior Katie Schultz (Wynantskill, NY/Averill Park) was honored on October 4.

The Gators are 6-6 on the year, while holding a 2-2 record in Skyline Conference play and will face a pair of league opponents this week with hopes of attaining a spot in the upcoming 2014 Skyline Conference Tournament. Sage has won four consecutive matches heading into their home season finale with Farmingdale State on October 14 at Prospect Park.
