Geneva, NY – The 2014 ITA Small College Northeast Regional Championships will take place on the campus of William Smith College (Geneva, NY) September 27-29. The 64-player singles draw and 32 pair doubles draws have been set for the 2014 championship that will crown the Northeast Singles and Doubles Championship that will advance to the ITA Nationals in mid-October.

Sage's senior co-captain Kirsten Ackerman (Guilderland, NY/Guilderland), who was a quarterfinalist a year ago in the 2013 Singles Tournament has been named the No. 6 seed for the 2014 singles' draw. Ackerman is currently 7-1 in singles play this fall at the No. 1 spot on the Gators' ladder. She has teamed at No.1 doubles with sophomore Erin Duffy (Castleton, NY/Maple Hill).

Ackerman, who has earned Skyline Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors in both 2012 and 2013, is 37-4 on her singles career at Sage. Overall, she is 68-12 on her Sage tennis career and after last year's ITA regional tournament showing, became the first player in program history to advance to the quarterfinals of the ITA Regionals. Duffy and Ackerman are a perfect 6-0 together this fall to lead the team in doubles play.

Ackerman opens her 2014 ITA regional run facing Emily Walsh of the University of Scranton in her first match, while Duffy drew No. 14 seeded Casey Olsen of William Smith in her first round match-up on September 27. Doubles will find Ackerman and Duffy matched up against Nicole Mahaffey and Julia Frattaroli.

A year ago, Duffy earned a spot on the 2013 Skyline Conference All-Star Second Team after strong rookie campaign that helped the Gators return to the league's championship tournament.
