Oneonta, NY – The Sage Colleges' women's basketball team travelled to Hartwick College for a non-conference contest with the Hawks. The host Hartwick Hawks cruised to an 84-33 win on Thursday evening to improve to 6-1. The loss puts Sage at 3-4.
Sage junior Jeadell Quinn (New Orleans, LA/McDonough 35) and junior forward Carlee Hirt (Beacon, NY/John Jay) paced the Gators with nine points each. Hirt hauled in six rebounds as well to lead Sage in the contest. Junior guard Megan Bowman (Dannemora, NY/Saranac) handed out four assists with a steal, elevating her career resume to include 211 assists, which ranks No. 7 all-time as Sage.
Hartwick was paced by the play of Maria Foglia and Brittney Dumas as they each posted 17 points in the contest as the Hawks held a 40-22 edge on the boards.
Sage returns to action on January 7 travelling to Mt. St. Mary College for a 7 p.m. Skyline Conference contest.
