Sage's Lindsay Sawyer inducted into ELHS Hall of Fame

Troy, NY----Earlier this fall, Sage’s softball coach and assistant athletic director, Lindsay Sawyer was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at East Longmeadow High School (MA). Sawyer was one of 17 former athletes, four coaches and two contributors enrolled in the charter call of the hall of fame.  

During her scholastic career at East Longmeadow High School, Sawyer, who graduated in 1997, was a three-sport athlete for four years,  competing in soccer, basketball and softball. She captained her softball and soccer teams during her senior year. She was also recognized numerous times as “Player of the Week” by the Springfield Republican. She was also named team MVP once in soccer and twice on the softball diamond.

She attained All-Western Mass honors all four years in soccer and softball and was an All-State in both sports as a senior. She was also elected as an All-American in softball. She holds many of the school’s softball records for her outstanding play at the plate as she batted .504 on her career and .546 as a senior.

She also went on to distinguish herself as a college All-American at Hofstra University. She was selected to the America East Conference All-Tournament Team three times as well as earning all-academic acclaim four times during her collegiate career.  She led her college softball team to their four consecutive conference championship titles. She also spent one season as the ELHS softball coach and eight years as a collegiate softball coach.
