WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Russell Sage College had two sprinters, junior David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) and senior El Hadji Iba Sy (Bronx NY/Emma Lazarus), compete at Saturday's Farley Inter Regional Extravaganza, hosted by Williams College. The duo each lowered program outdoor records at the meet, a last chance for to qualify for next week's Regional Championships in the 200m and 400m.
Adadjo bettered the school standard in the 200m dash with a 22.65 clocking, while Iba Sy finished sixth in the 400m with a time of 49.11, setting the program record and qualifying for the AARTFCs in the process. Adadjo crossed the line in 49.67, good for 11th out of 29 entries.
The All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Championships will be held May 15-16 at SUNY Cortland.
Gator Bites: After setting 13 indoor program records, Russell Sage College registered eight school outdoor records and nine top-five finishes at the Empire 8 Conference Championships, hosted by Saint John Fisher on May 3 and 4…Both Gator teams finished sixth out of seven squads.
