RSC Totals Four School Records of Day One of E8 Championships

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Russell Sage College totaled four school records and five top-five finishes on the first day of the Empire 8 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Saint John Fisher.

RSC finished second and third in the 400m dash. Junior David Adadjo (Nassau, NY/Columbia) took second with a program record time of 49.57, while senior El Hadji Iba Sy (Bronx NY/Emma Lazarus) was right behind with a 49.67 clocking.

Freshman Dylan Fox (Albany, NY/Colonie) equaled the RSC standard in the long jump with a 6.70m leap, good for third place, while junior Kaiden Simpson (Bennington, VT/Mount Anthony Union) hurled the javelin 48.33m, finishing in second place and increasing his school record in the process.

Through eight of the 22 events, RSC sits fourth of seven schools with 28 points.

On the women's side, sophomore Tirzah Spivey (Clifton Park, NY/Schenectady) broke the 100m hurdles record, which stood for more than nine years, with a time of 17.27.  RSC Athletics Hall of Famer Helen Putriment '15 established the previous standard with a time of 17.47 on April 18, 2015 at RPI.

Junior Elizabeth Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) completed 10,000m in 40:30.20 to finish fifth.

The Gators are currently sixth with the two points that Ingellis earned.

Final day action is slated to get underway at 10:00 am. 


Gator Bites: After setting 13 indoor program records, the Gators have established eight outdoor records thus far…Ingellis (Kingston, NY/Kingston) was tabbed the E8 Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 8…She won the 10,000m run at Utica with a time of 39:04.82…The clocking qualified the junior for the Regional Championships.
