Delmar, NY---The Sage Colleges' men's golf team opened the new season under rookie head coach Ian Pingelski. The Gators hosted the Sage Fall Invitational at Normanside Country Club, a par 70, 6,217 yard course. Mt. St. Mary College won the team crown after posting a round of 325, while Sage finished in second with a 329. Purchase College finished in third place with a 357.

For the Gators, senior captain Zach Sullivan (Ballston Spa, NY/Burnt Hill-Ballston Lake) shot a 73 to take home the medalist finish, while 2013 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year, Kevin Johnston (Gloversville, NY/Gloversville) finished in fifth place with his round of 80. Senior DJ Ioele (Johnstown, NY/Johnstown) added an 81 for the day and tied for sixth place, while sophomore Sam Moquin (Watervliet, NY/Watervliet) carded a 98 and finished in 11th place. Sophomore Henry Taylor (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem) rounded out Sage's scorers with his 98 for his first round as a Gator.
Sage returns to action on September 24 at the Elms College Trailblazer Invitational at Westover C.C. in Grandby, Massachusetts with a 10 a.m. start.
